Welcome to eta stellenbosch Our fifteen year old campus is located in the heart of the Stellenbosch winelands, en route to the Spier and JC le Roux Estates. We are located at the brand new PG Junction, which is approximately 2 km from Stellenbosch town centre. eta Stellenbosch was launched in 1997. We have experienced steady growth over the last decade and, in this last two years, the rapid expansion of eta in Stellenbosch has resulted in us relocating to a bigger and better campus. We made what we hope will be our last move at the start of July 2011.
We have spacious, air conditioned and well-equipped classrooms, an on-campus functional gym and exercise studio, a library with sport and exercise related books, an internet café with student lounge and DSTV. This is complemented with a coffee shop as well. We have ample free parking and access to wonderful walking and mountain-bike trails. All of this is within walking or cycling distance of the main shopping centres, medi-clinic and railway station. We offer two student houses which can accommodate up to twenty four male students and we have a well established network with accommodation specialists in the area. Details about accommodation can be obtained from the eta admin office.
More than 80% of our students are from the rural areas of the Northern Cape, Eastern Cape, Namibia, the Boland and Overberg, and we are proud of the high moral values ] our students are exposed to. We have strong alliances with the University of Stellenbosch, Boland College and the local schools, sport clubs as well as the local community. This offers our students excellent opportunities to practically apply the skills they learn with eta.
Every day on campus is treated as an open day for prospective students and visitors, please contact our office to arrange a visit in addition to open day event.

YEAR 1 - ISSUE 1 - MARCH 2011
eta Campus
A first year student’s view of eta
“All’s not well that starts well, but if the first years going to continue like this it’s certainly going to end well. Situated in the Vineyard court the etacampus is really my new amp for life. It really offers a lot and I should not be the only one loving it. This is a sport fantastic friendly zone. This first month at etahas been a real adventure. From day one there’s not been a dull moment. Friendly guys, jolly girls, free spirited mentors – now that’s my type of campus. No one really encouraged me to come to eta, in fact, people were rather sceptical of my choice of studies. I was often asked the question of whether there are jobs in the market and I learned that there are more jobs than there are qualified people. Our mentor Marlon really knows how to handle us and he is a great teacher. He understands that the’ normal’ class environment is not one that we would really enjoy, so, with a joke here and there, we all stay captivated. He also makes sure that all of us are on track with our studies and our work.
I feel that classes he gives are informative action learning and little time is spent on sitting around – we don’t waste any time. Marlon knows what he wants to teach and comes to class well prepared. It feels that the whole concept of etafrom a teaching point of view is to connect with students on a personal level to ensure our success. eta offers a perfect foundation to the start of a brilliant future. eta’s environment offers well rounded learning as it enriches students with the relevant theory and practice for their field of work; whether it’s rugby, soccer, cricket or netball.”
FITNESS COURSE ACTIVITIES: At eta Stellenbosch we support the philosophy that a healthy body hosts a healthy mind. All students are therefore involved in compulsory daily physical activities that form part of our Total Immersion (TI) philosophy. These activity sessions result in exciting recreational activities varying from popular traditional games like touch rugby, volley ball and action football to new games like woodball.
The Fitness students also assist Paul Roos Gymnasium school with their weekly recreational programme for the entire 1stterm. In addition, they become regular faces in many fitness centres like Virgin Active , Perfect Health and Planet Fitness, where they operated as floor instructors or group training instructors whilst completing their required field work learning and practical hours
COACHING COURSE ACTIVITIES:
Our coaches are well sought after and are currently involved in daily coaching at ten Primary and High Schools in Stellenbosch, Paarl, Somerset West and the Northern suburbs. They coach in seven different sports. Some of the schools we are involved with are Eversdal Primary, Curro Private School, Gene Louw Primary, De Hoop Primary, Stellenberg High, DF Malan High and Paul Roos Gymnasium.
We’re passionate about establishing a sustainable programme in these areas that progressively teaches the important skills of a sport. We work with children of different skill levels, and we like to ensure that their learning includes the love for the game.
SPORT MANAGEMENT COURSE ACTIVITIES:
A jack-of-all trades, and a master of them too. This course combines theory and applied learning which includes events in twelve communities in greater Stellenbosch and the Cape Flats. Students are responsible for developing grassroots level sport and physical activities in communities and schools that have little or no access to sport facilities. Major companies and foundations often call on our sport management students to assist with major events. Amongst these are the International Schools Golf Tournament, International Hockey Festival and the Annual Jag Foundation Ladies Race – and you thought managers only worked in offices!
